Building The Blades.

I'm not planning on starting to build the blades untill the main turbine body and alternator are finished. Then I'll put the basic test set of blades on the machine, that my dad made earlier. I'll see how well these perform at various wind speeds so that I can compare them to a set built by CNC. It will be interesting to see how much better, (or worse), a blade with the proper dimensions, taper, twist & airfiol performs compared to the basic set.

I'm working on a CAD blade drawing tutorial for Rhino, based on the dimensional output from Warlocks Blade Calculator. It may not be the best way of doing things but it works for me. At least I hope it will....

The main part of the tutorial is done, and should give you a good idea of how I model my blades. The basic idea can be used for any design of blade, not just the one I have shown. Hopefully someone will find it usefull.

Blade machining has started. There's a fair way to go, but progress is good. Click here to see how it's going.

You too, could make girly pink blades like me..
