In the early hours of (March 22nd 2008) the Wind Turbine was brought down in high winds (60+ mph). I shall be looking at the damage later today, and will update this page as I decide on what course of action to take. At the very least it will be needing a new set of blades.
More to follow.... And some pictures. ;-)

Well it looks as though the stator and magnet rotors survived the storm, but the rest of the turbine will need to be rebuilt from scratch, which I don't mind as I would have liked to have made some changes anyway. This accident has forced me into doing it sooner rather than later.
So I guess it'll be a new MK3 machine using the magnet rotors and stator from MK2. The body, blades and tail will be all new.

Up to now the wind turbine has produce about half a MegaWatt (500,000 Watts) of electricity, powering the lights and radio in the building it was attached to. The new machine will have bigger, more efficient blades, a better furling mechanism and be mounted on a taller stronger tower.
